Volunteer Compass collects personal information on its registration form and through emails in order for us to know our volunteers better and of course to help our project leaders.

All the information we collect is solely for internal use within Volunteer Compass and its partner organizations and project leaders.

Fellow Volunteers
In order to help you and other volunteers on the same project, your name and email address will be passed onto other volunteers in the same intake. This has many benefits including the ability for you to make contact with your fellow volunteers to meet or talk with each other before you leave for your destination or project.

Volunteers are freindly, caring and interesting people. 'Breaking the ice' with fellow volunteers before you go can only help both you and them. If would prefer for your name not to be passed on to your fellow volunteers, please let us know and we will respect your wishes.

We take your privacy seriously and do everything in our power to protect it.

Our Pledge
Our pledge and promise is to keep all information about our volunteers private. We do not sell your name, personal information, email address or other information onto other online or offline companies. All information you give us is held in the strictest confidence.

Financial
All our online payments are processed through PayPal - a secure third party. We do not hold any sensitive or vulnerable financial details about you such as credit card details.

Marine Conservation
Volunteer Compass is a professional organization specializing in the field of Marine Conservation. Through our contacts we are invited and offered to participate in projects around the world that need help. Projects that involve animals such as dolphons, whales, seals, sealions, porpoise and projects centred around coral protection and conservation.

Wildlife Conservation
Volunteer Compass work with numerous grass-roots NGOs, voluntary sector groups, conservation parks, institutes and professional bodies placing volunteers within conservation projects; supporting and protecting animals such as pandas, lions, tigers, birds, elephants and big game.

Where do our volunteers come from?
Volunteer Compass' volunteers come from all walks of life and from all over the globe - just to volunteer on worthwhile and ethical projects. Volunteers come from countries such as England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland (Eire), USA, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and all over Europe.

What do our volunteers do as a 'day job'?
Our volunteers have one passion - and that is to volunteer their time, expertise and efforts in helping Marine or Wildlife projects. We have Managers, gap year students, Professionals, bankers, school teachers, scuba divers, retired people, lawyers, factory workers, university students, housewives, social workers, archaeologists, builders, electricians, computer experts and many more people from diverse backgrounds joining our projects. Whatever your background, it will be easy to place you on a project that you will be proud of.
